On February 20, 2013 Sony announced the PlayStation 4 at their PlayStation Meeting 2013 and the services it is going to include.

Gaikai is working with Sony Computer Entertainment to develop enhance the PlayStation Network experience for PS4. They are helping to develop the following:
- Creating the fastest gaming networking ever made.
- Instantly sample the games available in the PlayStation 4
- Integrates PlayStation Network with Facebook and Ustream
- First gaming social network with meaning.
- Spectators (friends) can watch your live game footage while you are playing.
- Friends can help you play the game.
- Remote play via PS Vita (Looks like what the Wii U GamePad can do now.)
- The new features and services will be rolled out in stages.
