New Pokemon Revealed! Options

Beat you to it Zig. I saw that one last night some time. Seriously though, I'm gonna bet that thing is about as related to Snorlax as Marill was to Pikachu. I mean really, does Snorlax really NEED to evolve?

It's hard to say really. Both of them love to eat, and they'll do anything to get it. Perhaps all that running around digging in trash cans as a Gonbe forces it to constantly sleep once it evolves into a Snorlax.

this rediculous, thees too many. what ever happened to 151 pokemon. blue and red version own.... they will never be beat.

I actually played my Red Version several days ago. The graphics were so bad I had to put it down.

Na, the originals are classic. And in some way, I agree with Zig, we're currently at 386. Maybe they could add a few extras and round it out to 400...heck, boost it up to 500 in a few years if they feel ambitious, but we really can't take too many more. Gotta catch 'em all? Stick it in your ear Nintendo. I gave up on that when you made it impossible to legally obtain Mew and Celebi. I mean, its not as hard to remember them all as you'd think, but at a certain point, it does get to be a bit much.

Anyhow, back to this Gonbe thing. Snorlax is called KabiGON in Japanese, and it does have his ears, teeth and fat gut, but still, it may just be an off resemblense. 60-40 its unrelated.

As for ideas for a new monster, here's one I got from that goofy picture from E3 I've been joking about... a YETI pokemon!!! C'mon, they always need a good pure Ice type, and there we'd have one.

That does look like a Snorlax preevolution...

And ya know, Snorlax is kinda big, and if you have noticed, lots of the big pokemon have had pre-evolutions...

I'm betting that it evolves into Snorlax

I've got another theory for Gonbe's evolution into Snorlax. All we know as of now is that Gonbe loves to raid garbage cans. I believe that due to Gonbe's frantic searching and stuffing its face, it evolves into a sleepy and large Snorlax.

It states in the manga that Snorlax can be woken by food. I think that once a Snorlax smells food, its memories as a content Gonbe suddenly come back, forcing it to wake up. Since it has been asleep for so long, its dream of being a Gonbe seems real. That is why it runs full speed after food until it gets it. After it eats, it realizes it is not a Gonbe, but a large Snorlax. This causes it to fall back into a deep sleep.

Known Traits: It is known to scrounge for food, even in trash cans. It enjoys eating and napping, and it is very carefree.

OK, I admit that this thing is starting to look like a Snorlax pre-evo. I mean, Snorlax is certainly strong enough to have one. One thing though...whose comin' up with these stats?!!! 2 feet adn 231 lbs? NOTHING's that fat. Don't they know weight is related to height in an EXPONENTIAL way? This is even worse than linoone or phanpy.

You know, it actually makes sense that Gonbe is 231 pounds. I mean, it eats a lot, evolves into Snorlax, and is called the Gluttony Pokemon. Snorlax is over 1,000 pounds, so it is rather reasonable that its pre-evolution is around 200.

Addin my thought to this topic. I thought of something great! In the next new Pokemon game, they could have pokemon extinction so it wipes out like 300 types of pokemon and rounds it up to 150 again. And have NPC pokemon you can fight but never get.
