Xenosaga III, Not PS2 Exclusive? Options

It seems that the Xenosaga series will be continuing. Via an update to his personal website, Japanese voice actor Koji Tsujitani reveals that he's now working on Xenosaga 3 and will be providing the voice of Voyager. Tsujitani lists the game's release as to be announced.


The Xenosaga series was meant to span a large number of releases, with reports suggesting six in all. Following the original PS2 release, developer Monolith produced a sequel which featured more adult-like character designs.
Tsujitani does not list a system for the game, but we'd say PS2 is a safe bet. If the game is being developed as a PS2 title, we expect a formal announcement in the not-so-distant future.

Rawr, at least we know a 3rd is coming out. I need to hurry up and finish star ocean and tackle xenosaga 2. =\

Great news Chrono. I have a hunch that it might just come out on a next-gen console than the PS2, Xbox, or GameCube. Then again, I never trust my own hunches because they're wrong most of the time.

Then again, it would be a safe bet that it's probably going to be on PS2...

Also, yes the series is set to span six titles, but wasn't Xenogears the fifth game in the series? I read something about that, don't know if it's true or not, but it kinda makes sense. Does this mean that they're going to remake Xenogears someday?

I think Xenosaga 1-2 in the actual book the game was based on was 1 of the stories. So maybe they'll just make the last one xenogears.
