403 Forbidden Error Explained

If you happened to visit DreamStation.cc earlier today you may have received a “403 Forbidden Error” instead of the website. This error was because our web hosting company turned off the site after noticing that it was using up a lot of resources on the web server.

The problem was linked to the Ultimate Tag Warrior (UTW) plugin for WordPress that we were using. This plugin cannot efficiently handle the 5,000+ tags we have in the system. To fix the problem I have disabled and removed UTW from the server and site.

What this means is that you will no longer see the “Tags”, “Related Tags”, and “Related Articles” sections on the website when viewing each individual news item or review.

But, the good news is that the site should now respond quicker when moving from page to page, since it doesn’t have to look through all those tags for each article.

I am currently working on upgrading the version of WordPress that DreamStation.cc uses to the latest version and once that is completed the tags section may be able to be enabled again. I don’t have an exact date when this upgrade will be completed, but I am hoping it will be sooner than later.

Thank you for your understanding and sorry about any confusion the 403 Forbidden error may have caused.

Sincerely,

Chris. (cnc137)
