505 Games Strikes A Pose With Picture Perfect Hair Salon For Nintendo DSi

Nintendo DSi-Exclusive Will Allow Players to Run a Salon and Become the Ultimate Hair and Makeup Stylists with First DSi Game to Utilize Automatic Face Recognition.

505 Games announced Picture Perfect Hair Salon as an exclusive title for Nintendo DSiTM. Picture Perfect Hair Salon will allow players to snap photos of themselves and friends and adjust their hairstyles and makeup to create and exchange brand new looks.

Taking full advantage of the camera function on Nintendo DSi, Picture Perfect Hair Salon will be the first Nintendo DSi game to use automatic face recognition. When a player positions her face correctly, the game will automatically take a picture. Players will also learn to manage their own hair salons and how to cut, color and style hair while perfecting their makeup style and mastering the art of keeping clientele happy. Over 15,000 different hair and makeup combinations allow girls to perfect their own individual look.

Interactivity is the root of the fun in Picture Perfect Hair Salon, as the title allows players to become in-game characters, enabling them to experiment with different hairstyles. Players can also participate in contests to win awards that will help increase their ranking in the salon world.

“Girls everywhere have long enjoyed experimenting with different hairstyles, and now they can not only take the fun on the go with Nintendo DSi, but they can also see exactly how hairstyles will look on themselves and their friends with Picture Perfect Hair Salon,” said Adam Kline, president of 505 Games (U.S.). “‘Tween and teen girls are sure to enjoy personalizing new looks with this all-new video game.”

Picture Perfect Hair Salon will be released in November for Nintendo DSi, and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

What a fantastically original idea for a game - about as different to the stereotyped game mentality as you could imagine. I like the way it makes use of the (fairly) unique attributes of the DSi too
