Lionheart: Kings’ Crusade Changes Name to The Kings’ Crusade; Two New DLC Packs Coming Soon

The artist formerly known as Richard The Lionheart changes name for 2011. “Just call me King!”.

NEW YORK - 7th January 2011 - A new year has arrived and with it comes a New Year resolution as Richard The Lionheart, the leading historical figure in last year’s immersive real-time strategy game Lionheart: Kings’ Crusade, has undergone a name change. Explaining his decision, the legendary warrior said, “I just felt ‘Richard The Lionheart’ was a bit of a mouthful. I felt I wanted something a little snappier when the little people were addressing me. Therefore, from now on I shall be addressed simply as ‘King’. It’s short, easy to remember, and sums me up perfectly!”

Consequently, publisher Paradox Interactive has now changed the name of the game from Lionheart: Kings’ Crusade to The Kings’ Crusade by royal decree!

In addition to a brand new name, two forthcoming expansions are set to release in early 2011.
The first, Arabian Nights, will arrive on February 8th and will focus on the Saracen forces.
The second expansion, Teutonic Knights, is a Crusaders add-on with a to-be-confirmed release date.

About The Kings’ Crusade
From the acclaimed development team of King Arthur: The Role-Playing Game and Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come, The Kings’ Crusade is an immersive real-time strategy game transporting players back in time between the years 1189 and 1192 during the Third Crusade, as they take their battle-hardened warriors in to the heart of battle and one of the most vicious wars in history. Play as either Richard the Lionheart, the great English king and legendary warrior, set to invade and take back the treasured Holy Land once and for all, or as the first Sultan of Egypt and Syria, the chivalrous Saladin who defends Jerusalem, patiently waiting and preparing his people for the oncoming invasion. The Kings’ Crusade invites players to rewrite history through controlling and upgrading leaders and their armies, guiding various historical factions through political events, collecting relics, and unlocking new content in a feature-rich campaign set to take on the strategy genre by force.
