DALLAS (December 18, 2007) - Just in time for the holidays, leading casual game developer MumboJumbo launched the latest installment in their LUXOR franchise of action-shooter puzzle games today with the unveiling of LUXOR Pharaoh’s Challenge for the Sony PSP® (PlayStation® Portable). The game was originally slated to hit stores in January, but the developer was able to sweet talk Santa into making an early delivery. All of the pyramids, temples and marvels of ancient Egypt are brought to life on the Sony PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) in the new LUXOR Pharaoh’s Challenge. The most recent installment in the addictive, action-shooter game highlights new Egyptian worlds to explore, new power-ups and blessings. The game was previously launched for the PlayStation® 2 in November and last week for the Nintendo DSTM.
The Egyptian-themed casual game has an MSRP of $19.99 and will arrive at national retailers just in time for holiday shopping. Since the LUXOR franchise first launched in 2005, the ancient Egyptian-themed games have been downloaded more than 65 million times worldwide and have sold more than 500,000 units at retailers nationwide. The game’s popularity is a prime example of the expansion of the casual game industry, which is growing at a pace of 20 percent a year according to the Casual Games Association.
