New York, NY – August 12, 2010 – 2K Games announced today a trifecta of community and social events leading up to the launch of Mafia® II, the epic action-crime game forthe PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. The Mafia II Hit List application is now live on Facebook for social media addicts to put out hits on their friends and enemies. Players on Pandora can also listen to a Mafia II Mix Tape that includes some of the 120 notable songs from the 40’s and 50’s featured in the game, as well as other songs from the period. And finally, mobsters will take to the streets with three red-carpet community launch events in Chicago, Miami and New York City, hosted by leaders in the gaming community - Gamertag Radio and SFX-360.
The Mafia II Hit List application on Facebook offers social media aficionados the ability to be a mob boss and put hits out on their friends. Music lovers everywhere will enjoy the Mafia II Pandora Mix Tape on Pandora, which includes artists from the game soundtrack, such as “Ain’t that a Kick in the Head” by Dean Martin, “Boom Boom” by John Lee Hooker, “Mambo Italiano” by Rosemary Clooney, “It Don’t Mean a Thing” by Duke Ellington, and “Rave On” by Buddy Holly, as well as other music from the period. The world of Mafia II is dark, unforgiving and utterly transporting.
