AGOURA HILLS, Calif., Nov 02, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) announced today that the video game adaptations of DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: DWA) Megamind(TM), the highly anticipated feature film that comes to theaters on November 5th, are now available on the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system, PSP(R)(PlayStation(R)Portable) system, the Wii(TM) system and Nintendo DS(TM) family of hand-held systems. Additionally, the console games feature the voice of actor Jonah Hill (Megamind, Get Him to the Greek, Superbad), as his character from the feature film. The Megamind Mobile Game application is also available on the iPhone, iPod Touch and major carriers worldwide.

A first for video game adaptations of animated feature films, three separate and unique video games have been built specifically to take advantage of features of the platform on which it is played. Packed with new characters, new challenges and new adventures to deliver distinct gameplay experiences for fans of the film’s blue Mega Hero, Megamind games are rated E10+ for everyone 10 and older and are available for the suggested retail prices of $39.99 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system, Wii), $29.99 (Nintendo DS), $19.99 (PSP), and $4.99 (iPhone).

Taking cues from the over-the-top action of the film’s supervillain-turned-superhero storyline, Megamind offers three times the video gameplay action. In Megamind: Ultimate Showdown(TM) (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system) players operate a variety of mega-gadgets & build ingenious inventions as they face off against vile villains including Tighten and the newly formed Doom Syndicate in exhilarating single or two-player, co-op gameplay. Megamind: Mega Team Unite(TM) (Wii) lets four players choose from nine playable characters to form the ultimate Mega Team and utilize their super abilities and power ups to defend the city. Handheld gamers can play as Megamind anywhere they choose with Megamind: The Blue Defender (Nintendo DS, PSP system). Utilize and power up high-tech blasters that grow stronger with every shot to help Megamind take the city back from his own reprogrammed Brainbots and the Doom Syndicate. Megamind: Bad. Blue. Brilliant (Mobile SmartPhones) is a side-scrolling adventure following the handheld platforms, where Megamind must collect blue energy vials in order to help face off against enemies.

“The action, humor and dynamic characters presented in Megamind lend themselves perfectly to a variety of gameplay mechanics,” said Martin Good, Executive Vice President of THQ’s Kids, Family, Casual Games, and Global Online Services. “It’s very exciting to take these qualities and deliver multiple interactive options for an emerging audience of Megamind fans, giving them the choice on how they’d prefer to continue on in the rich universe created by DreamWorks Animation.”
