MLB 2K10 Simulates World Series Champion, and the Winner is…

Major League Baseball 2K10 video game predicts outcome of NLCS, ALCS and World Series.

New York, NY - October 15, 2010 - 2K Sports today announced the results of their official Major League Baseball 2K10 Postseason simulation of the 2010 NLCS, ALCS, and World Series, crowning the San Francisco Giants World Champions after besting the New York Yankees in a nail-biting seven-game series.

The simulation, which used Inside Edge Data technology, predicted the Giants will defeat the Philadelphia Phillies in six games in the NLCS, while the Yankees will only need five games to get past the Texas Rangers and take the ALCS. This sets the stage for an epic World Series, where the Giants find themselves down three games to one, only to climb back and win the next three to clinch their first World Championship since 1954 - when the franchise was still in New York.

The simulation predicted the Giants will mount a Game Seven comeback behind a two-run home run by Cody Ross, who after a brilliant series performance will win the World Series’ Most Valuable Player award.

In April, 2K Sports simulated the MLB 2010 season and accurately predicted more than half of the teams that appeared in Postseason play, including spot-on predictions that the Giants and Rangers would win their respective divisions for the first time in many years.

The ALCS begins Friday, October 15 on TBS, while the NLCS begins Saturday, October 16 on FOX.  The World Series begins Wednesday, October 27 on FOX.
