Capcom has announced that as of December 31, 2007, the company that hosted Monster Hunter and Resident Evil: Outbreak for PlayStation 2 online games is exiting the PS2 online business. What this means is as of December 31, 2007 both games will no longer support online mulitplayer gaming. But, you will still be able to play the offline single-player games on both the PlayStation 2 and backwards-compatible PlayStation 3 hardware.

Capcom also stated that they tried to find another solution to keep these two games still running online, but the hosting partner doesn’t want to be bother and just wants to get out of the hosting business entirely.
