New Ms. Pac Man and Tapper World Records Set at Barcade

New Ms. Pacman and Tapper Guinness World Records Set At Classic Arcade Game Face-Off.

In celebration of the release of the inaugural Guinness World RecordsTM: Gamer’s Edition 2008 book, Guinness World Records hosted a record-breaking event at Barcade in Brooklyn, NY. With gamers competing on any one of five classic arcade games, two new records were actually set by New York’s finest and fastest gamers.

First, Daniel Dujinc manuevered Pac Man’s significant other through tight turns and giddy ghosts to grab the Guinness World Record for Fastest Time to Beat Five Board on Ms. Pac Man with a time of 2′05″80. Then, not to be outdone, Michael Przybocki poured pints at blistering speeds to take the Guinness World Record for Fastest Time to Beat Five Boards on Tapper with a time of 1′20″43.

Other records attempted but proved to difficult to beat included: Highest Out-Run Score (52,897,690) Highest Ghosts ‘n Goblins Score (1,000,100), and Highest Donkey Kong Score Without Using the Hammer (317,000).

The all-new Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition 2008 (SRP: $19.95), the first Guinness World Records book devoted solely to the world of gaming, is on shelves now and bursting with new records, high score statistics and fascinating facts.

Gamers who believe they have what it takes to be considered videogame elite are encouraged to visit the official Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition 2008 website, to learn more information on submitting their scores and being a part of the online gaming community.
