The best-selling video game system in the world is adding a cool new color scheme to its wardrobe on Feb. 10. Cobalt/Black marks the seventh color in the Nintendo DS Lite palette. It joins PolarWhite, Coral Pink, Onyx, Crimson/Black and the limited-edition Gold and Metallic Rose. Now there’s a Nintendo DS color to complement any outfit.

Since it launched in November 2004, Nintendo DS has sold more than 17.6 million in the United States. Its smart looks, innovative touch screen and voice recognition features, and remarkable software have reinvented the way people think about video games while attracting girls, women, baby boomers and seniors to the world of video games in record numbers.

The new Cobalt/Black version will be available starting Feb. 10 wherever video game systems are sold. For more information about Nintendo DS, please visit www.Nintendo.com/ds

I wonder why they just keep changing the lid of the system for a new color lately (Crimson Red version was the same way) instead of making the whole system cobalt blue or crimson red?

I guess the Legend of Zelda system that was available around the holiday was all gold, but these other ones just seem like the black one with a news lid. I know I am stating the obvious here. :p

Would you like an all blue or all red system better than this two-tone version?

The Nintendo DS Lite color I like the best is the dark blue one that is only available in Japan. I like it since it looks like it is very close to DreamStation.cc blue. Maybe they should make one in dark blue and orange with yellow highlights? Would you buy that color scheme if they made it?

Its a cool color but I still like my old version. Electric Blue. I prefer if the DS were all the same color. Here is one thing I don’t get, How come Nintendo keeps coming out with these half color DS lites? Why not just make face plates that can come on and off?

Why don’t they just let you customize them from all sorts of pre-fabricated colors already? I’d pay $10-20 more for an all red one or something with a certain character etched/painted on the lid. That would be awesome. I know it’s not ideal for mass production, but wouldn’t it be awesome?

By the way, I have a white DS Lite, but would consider buying an all red version for no other reason than it’s red.

Thanks for adding the picture, too.
