Power Rangers Console Game Rights Secured by Namco Bandai

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (Feb. 4, 2011) - Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., today confirmed that it has secured exclusive North American rights to publish future official videogames for the long-running kids’ TV phenomenon, Power RangersTM across all major consoles and hand held home console videogame platforms.

This is the first step for NAMCO BANDAI Games to create a new series of home console games based on the upcoming Power Rangers Samurai series controlled by Saban Brands.  Power Rangers Samurai follows a new generation of five Rangers who must master the ancient Samurai Symbols of Power, which give them control over the elements of Fire, Water, Sky, Forest and Earth.  Under the guidance of their all-knowing Samurai mentor, Ji, and with the aid of their devoted animal Zords (Lion, Dragon, Ape, Turtle and Bear), they battle to save Earth from the dark forces of the Netherworld led by the evil Master Xandred.

“As we kick off the year as the new NAMCO BANDAI Games, strategic partnerships are a key focus for us, stated the Vice President of Marketing at NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., Carlson Choi.  “Under this new partnership, I look forward to leveraging our strengths and capabilities with Saban Brands to increase our mutual reach with high quality game content.  We are definitely excited to bring the Power Rangers series under our roster of titles.”

“We are excited to be partnering with NAMCO BANDAI to bring the Power Rangers video games to game consoles across America,” said Elie Dekel, President of Saban Brands.  With the debut of Power Rangers Samurai next week we will be introducing these heroes to an entirely new generation of fans and partnerships like this one are key to the success of the brand.”
