Siliconera is reporting that their source at Sony has confirmed that the PSP game, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, is being ported to the PlayStation 2. John Keller, Senior Marketing Manager for Sony PlayStation Portable, has also stated that they are working to segregate the PSP audience by allowing them to have games exclusively for the first 12 to 14 months and then they don’t have a problem porting the games to the PS2.
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and Twisted Metal: Head On have already made this leap from the PSP to the PS2 and it looks like other titles will follow soon enough. What those other titles will be is still up in the air, but I am guessing any game that sells well on the PSP will eventually appear on the PS2 also.
It is funny, since originally the PSP was getting all the PS2 ports and now it looks like the tides have changed. Now that the PlayStation 2 is fading the PSP will be getting the original games first and the PS2 will get the ports.
What do all of you think of this? Should the PS2 and PSP get ported games or would you rather see only original games on each system?
