Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game Launches on PlayStation Network

Video Game’s Launch Coincides with Universal Pictures’ Nationwide Release of the Action-Comedy Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - August 10, 2010 – Today, Ubisoft launches Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game™ on PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. Developed in partnership with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, the game is based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s award-winning graphic novel series and the upcoming Universal Pictures film directed by genre-smashing filmmaker Edgar Wright. The action-comedy will be released in theaters August 13, 2010.

The game follows Scott Pilgrim’s quest to date Ramona Flowers by defeating her seven evil exes. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is a rock ’n’ roll action love story for the 8-bit generation with an arcade-style, beat-’em-up experience inspired by many classic retro games of the ’80s and ’90s. The game launches first on the PlayStation®Network and on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on August 25, 2010. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is rated “T” for TEEN by the ESRB.

Gameplay features a four-player co-op mode in which players fight alongside Stephen Stills, Kim Pine and Ramona Flowers to kick, punch and beat their way through hordes of hipsters, emos, paparazzi, aliens and flying piggy banks. The 8-bit retro-gaming animations were created by the world-famous Pixel Artist Paul Robertson. The game also features a soundtrack by chip-tune rockers Anamanaguchi, who create music using a variety of synthesizers.
