SEGA and Emaar to Open Theme Parks Across Middle East

According to GamesIndustry.biz SEGA and a Middle Eastern firm, Emaar plan to build a series of indoor theme parks based on SEGA’s Japanese Joypolis amusement centers. Joypolis is a theme park based on original SEGA intellectual properties with four locations in Japan. The first park is planned to open up in the 76,000 square foot Dubai Mall and is likely to feature gaming machines, simulators and a rollercoaster(s).

The Dubai Mall is set to open up later this year and will feature an Olympic sized skating rink, movie theater, children’s play area, and access to the world’s largest man made structure, Burj Dubai.

For more information about Joypolis visit the Japanese SEGA website or the English Wikipedia Joypolis page.
