SpongeBob SquigglePants Coming to Nintendo 3DS This May

SpongeBob Fans to Have a Hilariously Frenetic Experience on the Go - and in 3-D.

AGOURA HILLS, Calif., Mar 23, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — As Nintendo fans get ready for this weekend’s highly anticipated launch of Nintendo 3DS(TM), THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI) today announced that the iconic SpongeBob SquarePants, is scheduled to make his Nintendo 3DS debut this May in SpongeBob SquigglePants.

SpongeBob SquigglePants gives SpongeBob fans an innovative experience utilizing the platform’s three-dimensional functionality for over-the-top fun. The Nintendo 3DS debut of SpongeBob SquigglePants comes shortly after it’s unveiled on the uDraw GameTablet(TM) for the Wii(TM) system.

In SpongeBob SquigglePants for Nintendo 3DS, SpongeBob fans will interact with their favorite character in 3-D. Bringing together 100 hysterical nanogames that challenge players to tilt, flip, drag and more across seven worlds, SpongeBob SquigglePants includes an exclusive “3D world” that boasts a unique SpongeBob art style.

The entire SpongeBob SquigglePants experience is hosted by the live-action character Patchy the Pirate, who not only guides players through the game, but also makes surprise appearances and interacts with players as they tackle the huge array of nanogames, offering an added level of under-the-sea fun.

SpongeBob SquigglePants on Nintendo 3DS is slated for release in May, while the uDraw GameTablet version, which also includes a free draw component and gameplay that is totally unique to the uDraw, is scheduled for release April 12.
